Over the three days of the camp the students enthusiastically discussed, and made fantastic presentations about, topics related to the world around them. Every single student contributed excellent insight and brought unique perspectives to the discussions. Each presentation was better than the last, which was doubly impressive since they started at a high level from the start. The students were incredibly hard working, and always pushed themselves to do their best. They asked many intelligent questions and helped each other wonderfully. They were able to show great teamwork and communication throughout the camp. It was a lot of fun to learn alongside the students and I hope that they were able to learn something too. I hope that all the students could see the fantastic progress they made over the course of the camp, and continue to work hard in the future. Most importantly I hope they were able to take away some valuable skills and experience from this event. (Peter)
(Peter)
Hello everyone! Thank you to the students of the 2025 Winter Global English Camp! Together, we learnt about international issues, made wonderful presentations, and solved problems as global citizens. The students in this year’s camp all made amazing progress in just 3 days! I am confident that future students of the Global English Camp will improve greatly as well! I hope to see you there! (Chris)
(Chris)
I had never experienced a high-level English event like this camp before, and I was able to improve my speaking, listening, and writing skills. The English presentation was especially memorable because it was my first time giving a presentation in English. Mr. Chris’s presentation about bridges was very interesting! Another memorable moment was eating dessert with the other members after the camp. Thank you, Ms. Takada and Mr. Peter, for serving the food for us! This camp was a great experience in my life, and it is a memory that will stay with me forever. (Kosuke)
I challenged myself with difficult speeches and learned practical English that we don’t usually use at school. At first, it was hard, but I really enjoyed the challenge. Peter supported me kindly, and that made me feel confident throughout the three days. It was my first time joining the camp, so I was nervous, but next time I think I can challenge myself with more confidence since I already have this experience. It was a very fulfilling three days! (Kanata)
At the camp, I discussed global issues that I didn’t know about before. I realized how important it is to think by myself and clearly share my opinions. On the other hand, I sometimes remember English words with incorrect pronunciation, which can confuse other people. I want to improve my pronunciation. Thank you very much for this valuable experience. I would like to join again. (Haru)
Due to various circumstances, I could only participate for one day, but it was a significant learning experience for me. Everyone around me had excellent vocabulary and pronunciation, and I was painfully aware of how much I still lack. However, this didn’t discourage me; rather, it motivated me to catch up to them. (Sora)
These three days were very precious to me. I had never thought about world issues very seriously before, but now I feel that my knowledge of world affairs has increased. I was also able to enjoy learning about world issues. The level of the conversations was quite high, and speaking English fluently was very difficult for me, but everyone always helped me. As a result, I think I was able to understand the conversations completely. Moreover, I think I was able to speak more English than last time. I realized that my English skills have improved. Of course, the snack was very delicious, and the lecture about the bridge was very interesting. (Sakiko)
When I heard this camp would be held at Prince, I didn’t have to spend any time to decide to apply. Because it’s rare to experience English immersion for 3 days, and I wanted to meet the amazing teachers that I met in summer once. Three days that I spent at this camp were very comfortable. There are only 5 or 6 students in the camp, so I was able to get a lot of advice from my teacher. Especially, one piece of advice helped me a lot. He said, “You wrote data and facts on the poster, so you just need to put your feelings and what you want to tell on your script.” And he also said, “You don’t have to write the script perfectly.” At first, I couldn’t put the advice into practice because I was used to writing and memorizing scripts perfectly. However, as I practiced more and received more advice from my teacher, my presentation became more natural. During the actual presentation, I was able to focus on telling my feelings to the audience, not remembering my script. It was huge progress for me. I’m very grateful for the advice, and I hope I can participate in this kind of camp again. (Mai)
